Low beam 2006 XKR VE
Hello all,
My drivers side low beam light is out. Not the bulb ( I switched them), not the bulb plug ( not melted and power is getting through), not the fuse ( checked them), not the relay (switched them.) I can't think of what else to check. Would a computer diagnostic check reveal the problem? Is there another ballast somewhere?
Any ideas would be awesome. Go Raptors!

I think the newer cars all have HID. Don't forget that HID bulbs all have 2 volt inputs. There is a high voltage connection to a ballast, the high voltage gets the gases inside HID bulb to emit light. As I recall, like a florescent light, the HID then switches to 12volts for steady light.
Long way to suggest that you suspect the ballast. How to check? Good question you didn't put the working bulb in this side did you? I assume not. You cannot measure HID ignition voltage with your multimeter it will fry it.
If you put the working bulb in the dead side, please confirm it doesn't light.
If so, check and clean ballast connections.

If it's a 2006 "VE", it's has HID Low-Beams! It's possible that the Bulb is burned out or the Ballast has gone "Kaput"! If you go to the trouble of removing the Headlight itself. You might as well replace the Bulb assembly and the Ballast, while you are in there...after all.....They are 13 years old! Think about it!
