Default Mesh grill insert

I am planning to add a mesh grill to my '06 XK8. THe seemingly easiest version is the 3 piece unit that seems to attach in front of the existing splitter bar. Has anyone used this particular unit, and does it cause any increase in temp during operation?

I think you're making a mistake, I've only seen one or two mesh grills I liked in person. Keep the chrome splitter!!

edit: also I don't think change in temp would be noticeable without something like real gauge?

I have the 'Realgauges', and plan to keep the splitter if possible. Just like the looks of the mesh inserts. I built a mesh grill for an '84 El Camino that I had previously. Worked very nicely.

Sam,

Go to Mina Gallery...They have a One Piece Convex for $225.00..That's the best way to go....for this!

I have been looking at their site. Looks like I will need a grill for the lower intake also('06) for continuity.

2005 Jaguar XKR Coupe - Ebony/Ivory 20" BBS "Montreal" Wheels

Sam, You don't need a lower grill as it takes from the Imagine....Put Daytime Driving Lights down there instead....

Default Home made grill

Mine is a home made SS arrangement that retains the splitter - which I quite like. The commercial curved version will obviously be much quicker to install, albeit much more expensive. The lower grill is especially important on the 05/06 XK8 because low-flying road debris can wipe out your oil cooler and A/C condenser, as well as the radiator. The attachment devices, which were too visible - as shown - have been masked with black and with silver stripes, and so are no longer easy to see.

That looks great! I just got my mesh grill in the mail yesterday, they advertised easy installation and that the front end doesn't have to be removed but the overider plastic covers are not coming off without removing the front end. I'm looking for directions on removing it, do you have any advice for me?

Plus those driving lights look great!! Where did you pick those up and what did you wire them to?

Thanks
Bruce

Default LED Daytime Running Lights

Hey Goose,

Sorry I'm late getting back to you! I've spent a few Days in St. Luke's during the last couple weeks and am just getting back on my feet!
In answer to your questions.....The DTRL's will only fit if you have the new Nose Piece (2005 - 2006) as there is no lower Grill on the other Nose Pieces....The Lights come from either Philips or Osram. The one's in the Photo are Osram but I changed them out and now have Philips. The Philips light is one piece rather than 8 little bulbs (as shown in the Photo)...The new one's look much better I think! Look them up by going to the Philips Website. Directions come with the Package.....They burn (Full) when you turn on the Key....They dim when you turn on the Lights at Night and back to Bright whenever you turn off the Headlights...
Gosse, you should have a Photo of your (1997-2006) XK and something about it....That way everyone will know what XK you are talking about!

Good Luck with yours! I love the Lights!
