I'm headed to the 150,000 mile mark in a month or so, then a big milestone of 200,000 miles in about a year at my current rate of driving. I get more of kick from seeing the daily total after a 12-14 hour day behind the wheel, than I do from the car's total milage. Either way these cars are a hoot to drive ALL DAY LONG then get catch a few zzzzz's and do it again. That was me last week. My SO spent a week in Iowa sayin goodbye to close friend who wasn't going to get out of the hospital alive. My job was to drive about 700 miles overnight, pick her up, w and after a long nap, drive the 700 miles back home.
Despite the lousy weather. And the incident of Running squarely over a box 4 feet square that was filled with 25 full size pillows, the trip was exhilarating.
re the pillow box, /It had fell out of a truck right in front of me in the middle of Kansas City. All lanes full and no where to swerve, so I hit the thing going 80 mph. Pillow explosion deluxe. It was about 8 miles before I could pull over safely and extricate the remains of the box and about 7 pillows from the undercarriage. Not a scratch on the car from the impact. Dodged a bullet there.
