Default Minor Annoying XK8 Thing..

Whats up with those little plastic pieces that are supposed to cover the back of the taillight boards in the trunk? Seems like they rely on pixy dust and magic to keep them in place. No matter how I put them in the next time I open the trunk they are always loose wandering around the trunk. They seem to just have two flimsy springy arms that don't really snap into anything. I can't see anything that looks broken off or missing from them. But I also can't see anything that would persuade them to want to stay anywhere near where they are meant to hang out.

Jag realized they were crap and redesigned them with screw mounts about 3 model years later.

I replaced mine with Honda clips I got on ebay. They hold nicely. I think I got 25 of them for around $7

Its these nasty pieces of crap that cover the connector of the taillight pc board..

I don't see how you could use those push clips to attach them as they don't overlap anything for the socket to go into.

It's those little tabs on the edges that Jaguar engineers thought would work. If you try to bend them back be prepared for breakage. Mine have both failed. I just put them back on and sigh.

Sorry I thought you were talking about a different part. My clips were broken and I replaced them with the ones in the pictures in my last post.

I have 2 of those missing also. Those push clips should work good for that.

Yes, those are the same ones that fly off my 2000.
I dont see how the push pins would work. i am thinking more of a small strip of double sided velcro.

Look for them under your spare tire and behind the battery.
