Cool misfire

A couple of weeks ago i was driving on a dual carriageway on a hot sunny day and the engine dashboards lights came on with an engine fault text. The far lost all power. this came and went getting worse. I limped the car to my garage. we both drove the car the next couple of days and could not reproduce the faulty. There were no codes.
We replaced all coils and plugs and the car ran well. had a trip to london along the south coast and back. with out a hitch.
Today (another quite hot day), just pottering around town, the same fault occurred. engine fault, misfiring and stalling.
There are no codes on either occasion.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
Thank you

I'm not sure why there are no codes but the fuel pump is an obvious weakness on the XK8 which can cause an intermittent misfire until it ultimately fails. You may be able to check the electrical connections with a multimeter.
