The music wouldn't play
I have a 1998 xk8 with a 6 CD changer in the boot. It has performed flawlessly until the passenger door was left slightly ajar, and the battery tender was not plugged in. The battery was so dead, even the clock had stopped! After correcting these problems, retraining my windows and seat positions and resetting the clock, all is well except for the CD player. The CD display shows NO CD. The changer magazine has 6 CDs in it face side up and the display shows it steps through and loads each CD and then goes to NO CD. I made sure the magazine is in correctly but nothing I do seems to help. Any thoughts on this?
I would start with a HARD RESET.
Connect the battery with a direct forceful contact. (no 'jittery' touch-touch-touch' type contact)
Many things on the network need a RESET like radio and windows.
ICE might need a reset also.

As above, but once the battery is disconnected, hold the two battery cables together for 15 seconds before re-connecting to the battery.
(I'm not sure if the above is a typo?)
