Default My car passed it's MOT today

Well today I am very pleased. My car (XK8 convertible) passed it's 17th MOT with no advisories. Bearing in mind thar the car is celebrating it's 20th anniversary and retains original nickasil engine, ZF gear box, rear axle and original bodywork with fully working roof I think that is pretty good - no, in fact it's the best and most reliable car I've had. And my car is no garage queen. It visits construction sites and lives outdoors in all kinds of British weather! Just a reminder for me of just how good these cars are. Cheers

Hello and hearty congratulations. Next year my XK8 will be 20 years. Also with nickasil engine, ZF transmission and 110t km on the clock. The best and most beautiful car I've ever had and I hope my cat keeps me loyal for a long time. I continue to nurture them with much love.

The daily drivers are usually more reliable than the garage queens - they just don't look so pretty!

My XK passed the MoT yesterday but it's only half the age of your XK8.

Another happy post about Jaguars. We don't get enough of these!

not surprising when most of them spend 6 months on axle stands being fixed!

The only concern I had was regarding the emissions test due to the second hand catalytic converter I just fitted. Luckily the gamble paid off as the emissions were better than last years test, £80 for a second hand cat vs £1500 for a new one.

If we're collecting good MOT results, mine passed with no advisories in February.

Default MOT? I can only dream of an MOT...

After 18 months of rebuilding floors, chassis rails, front suspension, engine and fuel pump, I can only dream of even being able to take the XK8 for an MOT.

Soon though... very soon now... is it strange to say that I'm looking forward to it being tested?

Our UK combination of rain and road salt is certainly hard on the XK8. US and Australian owners report nowhere near the corrosion issues we have.

Default The Good News thread

Congrats to everyone who had a happy anniversary recently

Oddjob, we can't wait either. Looking forward to the pictures in front of the obligatory stately home.
