Default My Own XK8 > XKR Grille Swap

One of the things I really like about the XKR is the three piece mesh grille. Thanks to Mark (mjlaris) who upgraded to a one piece mesh grille, I've inherited a three piece grille. Following Matt's (H20boy) instructions here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...tup-faq-40442/, I've installed my own. There were a few differences from his instructions and what I observed on my own car, so I've added them to that thread. And now, the pictures (ignore that the car is dirty and I didn't take the best pictures today):

Also, Jag69, check your PMs, I'm ready to ship my old stuff to you

Still amazes me how much it changes the look of the car, and even more so in person.

New badge and grille. You be stylin' now, Keith!

Thanks Skid.

Norri, yes we are playing pass the parcel, ha ha. I got Mark's parts when he upgraded and Jag69 will get my parts to fix his broken nose.

Keith,

Car looks great. I am glad it worked out for you...and me!

Thank you Keith (and by extension Mark (Mjlaris)) for carrying on the tradition of an amazingly helpful forum. Not only are we passing ideas back and forth...but actual parts. How cool is that.

I hope to be able to "pay it forward" myself someday.

Keith, glad my old grille has a good new home and I very much agree with you and Jag69, this is an amazing forum.

I have to admit that even though I have the later model with the one piece mesh grill, I kind of prefer the inset look of the earlier 3-piece mesh. The best of ALL worlds would be having the inset of the 3-piece but in a one piece version (sans the overriders).

nobody would ever see it, the for sale ads get little viewing. For swappable/free stuff, just post it up in the model section and it'll get snagged quickly

I am a real sucker for BRG XKRs, with the tan interior they are just beautiful Great photos also in the country side. The 3 piece grille does look much better than the old XK8 grille. You must get a lot of looks from everyone. I live in a small town in Texas and it is rare for me to go any where without someone making a comment.

Pretty much every time I'm driving with the top down, someone yells out nice car. It never gets old The pictures were taken at Three Maidens Park, where the Hiawatha pageant used to be held, and on the edge of the Pipestone National Monument.
