Default My Undertray Just Arrived! XK8

Guy's, My undertray for my 97 XK8 just arrived. Being a newbie owner I looked high and low for this part. After alot of time on the internet and reviewing older posts I found that , " The Davis Auto Group " in Ohio had the part at the best price. Genuine Jaguar part. List was $294. , got it for $212.10. found some other suppliers asking over $300. I was ready to pay the $300 but it feels good to save a buck and invest in other items for the car. I am having a Bluetooth system installed this week. When completed I will update everyone on the installation and the system info. Thx for all the help.

Jim

Jim,

After spending on a new Undertray, it's worth the extra for new fixings. The plastic 'scrivets' aren't often re-usable.

I recall US members have found alternative sources of supply for these at a big saving over Jaguar OE cost.

Jim,
Is this the black plastic that mounts across the bottom of the front end under the radiator. Mine is torn away. Do you have a contact name at the dealer that you used. Thanks Steve

If anyone else is curious, I got my "scrivets" from NAPA at huge savings. I tried to look back for a part number but NAPA keeps changing its site and my receipts are still in storage while we move in.

Here was my adventure in undertray replacement:

I hit a raccoon which tore off the corner of the undertray and ripped the wheel liner when the undertray tore down.

Oh, one thing to mention. I believe the OEM scrivets require a special rivet gun.

Davis Auto Group , 6137 Kruse Drive , Solon , Ohio. 440-542-0601 or 1-800-879-1269. I ordered mine from there website. Then called to confirm after a few days. The scrivets were also available from the. Undertray was $212.10 & srivets were $2.19 each. Yes it is Black plastic and has the Jaguar parts number on it.

I had to modify my rivet gun to accept the scrivet. Worked fine. I did buy a few extra scrivets just in case I broke any. Broke two and have two extra after installing.

Missed the part where you put it on. I'm glad it wasn't hard to get the scrivets to work with your gun.
