Default NAV interface with Head Unit

Here is the ultimate plan - replace my stereo head unit, but keep the NAV working.

Currently, I use the head unit, CD Changer, but have an aftermarket processor and amplifiers for all speakers.

Now I know there is the issue of the NAV 'audio' still to work out going to the aftermarket amp, or perhaps interrupt the head unit output like a parrot phone adapter does...but nevertheless, first things first - I once read that the head unit, Nav, amplifier, and cd changer are all tied together thru whatever linky they have. If I separate them, i.e. remove the signal to the amplifier (i.e. head unit) will the Nav still operate? No plans to use the CD changer again though. It sits...until replaced with matching brand.

Any ideas besides the obvious 'pull the head unit and see what happens' method?

Have you looked at the wiring Diag. for your car to see anything obvious??

Here's the wiring diagram. I think I can do this...but need to be sure about those last four wires at the bottom. Anybody know what these are?

click for original size...if you can't read it.
