Default Need wheel for 2001 Jaguar

Got new tires the other day and found out my wheel was bent, went to the dearlership and was informed they don't stock them anymore...any idea's as to where I can get a replacement. They were the chrome option rims for the 2001 XK-8.

Attached a pic of car hope that helps and as always thanks much

Try the usual places - E Bay and Craigs List (though Craigs List is always a little scary). Additionaly, there are some Vendor Firms on the Forum that also can probably help.

Too far away from you to make any useful suggestions on where to obtain a replacement but may be able to help with identifying the rims.

That looks like either Impellar or Hydra rims but difficult to be certain from the thumbnail image.

You'll also need to check rim size required. My 2001 was on Impellar rims with 8.5 x 18 Front and 9 x 18 Rear.

Those are Impellers. Have you looked around your area to see if there's somewhere you can get the wheel professionally trued or repaired? They can take out some pretty bad bends, and probably would be quite a bit less that buying and shipping another used one that could have issues of its own. Ask around the car dealer body shops, they use those wheel repair guys quite a bit.

OK, my first venture onto this forum was the same question that you have.

I got no replies whatsoever. The forum is a little more friendly now. That is why I will give you a response.

I spent a couple of months trying to find a wheel, and simply could not. What I was told was that since the front wheels are 8 inches and the rears are 9 inches and that the front wheels are far more likely to be damaged than the rear wheels, that the front wheels were very hard to find. I was also told that the typical Jaguar owner was more likely to keep the original wheels as opposed to some other car owners so that that fact reduced the number of original wheels available. After almost three months of looking, and being unable to find a wheel I was referred to a wheel repair facility.

In the end, I was able to have my wheel repaired. (it had what they called pothole dings)

If I were you, I would try to see if the wheel is repairable. If not, then, I wish you better luck than I had.

Check my tread cracked rim. I had mine welded, it was a small crack on the inside of the back rim. One company that I had asked the members about was rim guard extreme. They gave me a cost of $175. Shipped UPS. Check the web page of the rims that they have repaired they are amazing. Hope it helps. Jim
