Default Never saw one before.

Driving north out of Panama City,Fl., I was passed (Quickly) I might say, and I was doing just under 70, but it was a Hyundia Coupe.

I just looked it up on the internet, but having just a minute to look at it, it was hard to get all the features fixed in my somewhat graying mind, but the closest I could find on the net was the Genosis Coupe.

Really a beautiful car. Not a Jag, but still a sight to see. Never saw one before.

Cheers

You are right, nice interior also, but expensive. Good friend has one and paid $62K, but then he also has a 911, E Type and new Corvette, times are hard for some of us. LOL

cjd777, I think your buddy is pulling your leg. I've never heard of one so I just googled it, went to Hyundai of Everett's page and "built" on with every single option. It topped out at $35,895.

My friend Tom works for Hyundai, and doesn't have much love for them. They added different gearing to the transmission, and extra weight to a car, thats driveline was already at it's limit. He never was a transmission guy though. I kind of like things that aren't dripping oil on me, after they sit for awhile......Be cool....Mike

Marvin, I too had a little trouble in his price. He did have the full moon roof and the interior is stitched in the style of a Ferrari, but still that price was over the top.

I am sure it had to have been an Equus They are rare as hen's teeth, because the average Hyundai owner doesn't go into the dealership with the idea of dropping over 60K for a car. It is a beautiful car though. Not at all like the rest of everyone's line up of Jellybean cars. They all look the same, but are different colors. That's why I have always driven cars a little out of the ordinary. Never once have I pulled up to a light, and seen another XK8 or R sitting next to me, or even an X Type for that matter.....Be cool....Mike

I got a chance to check out the Equus at last year's DC Auto Show. I gotta say, I'd have a tough time shelling out two or three times as much cash for a Mercedes. The Equus is a VERY impressive car. I can't wait to see how it holds up over time and for the used prices to plummet as did the VW Phaeton (another amazing car).

Default Here's the Skinny

Default Here's the Skinny

Stopped by the HYUNDIA dealer as promised and here's the skinny.

The cope is only made in the Genosis model. The top price (Loaded) is around 35,000. Only one on the lot (beautiful) was white and to me it had everything I would want and it's price was 29,000, but big deals going on now. 244 HP and mileage was 17 in town, 25 on the highway.

Salesman said they have sold around ten since they came out in 2011. Only get one at a time , so this one was a rarity, or a lucky find.

Cheers

Ahhh, ..... but now you'd have a decision to make:

Do you buy a 244 HP decently appointed new car with a nice ride, or for the same money, a fairly recent, well appointed Jag with almost 50% more HP, fabulous ride AND better MPG? (imagine that - lol) ;-)

Scardini1------------

You must have been in my pocket, that's exactly what I said to the salesman. Actually, when he mentioned the fuel mileage, I said to him that my XK8 I was in, get's that or better just running around town. He was dumbfounded.

I asked about the mileage after he said it was a six (6) cylinder, but he had no answer.

Other then that, it was a really nice coupe, but a car to give Jaguar competition it was not.

Cheers
