I just installed the Acura mirror part # 76400-SEP-A02ZA in my 1998 XK8. It works well and looks like the original but can't get the auto on headlight to work. The new light has the auto dimmer function and the front sensor, but only 3 wires black, grey and white. Trial and error efforts just gave me a couple of blown fuses. Anyone know if the green brown or yellow wire in the original mirror/connector can be attached to make the auto on function work?

Or do I need to have my old mirror rebuilt? Photos attached, i hope seems only one is allowed?

As for the photo's, each one has to have a different name. I have the same problem when I use my iPhone or iPad as every photo is stored with the same name..

As for the mirror, sorry someone more knowledgable will chime in.

 

I have an earlier post about this - it was me that found the Acura mirror as a replacement.


The auto headlight function will not work with the Acura mirror - the only way of retaining that is to get Sybesma rework your existing mirror or a new one at $$$$ from Jaguar(that ignores s/h units of course). If you decide to go down the Jaguar dealer route make sure that it has the gel pack and is not N.O.S.. The mirror with auto headlight on is, AFAIK, unique to Jaguar.

 

Guess I will get my old mirror rebuilt if I miss the auto one function that much.
