Gus,

I wanted to take a second and thank you for the great resource you are maintaining for the community. I know having all that information available was a major factor in my purchase decision, and how I get to enjoy this fine piece of machinery. I would not have done so without it. I know my ability to occasionally contribute to this forum comes mostly from the actual data you and others provide to the rest of us. Thanks again.

That reminds me that I need to replace my valve cover gaskets. It can't have been more than 6 months since I bought the parts!!

I have directed many a worried owner to your site crediting "Gus, the Patron Saint of Jaguars" as source of much knowledge and wisdom.
Thank you for continuing to maintain and update this valuable resource.

Hi Gus, do you think taking the pump out from below is easier than the top? Can you also post a pic of your hose removal tool as the link just went to the Sears home page for me.

Thanks
Jim

Yes if I had not replaced the valve i could have replaced the pump in about an hour or so. you drop the cat 2 nuts, 2 hoses and one plug.

Ditto. HUGE THANKS Gus . . . JagRepair.com is a great reference site. . . not just to update or refresh my own knowledge, skills and resources, but even more, for the confidence with which I can refer other, newer, perhaps less knowledgeable or less resourced owners or mechanics.

Coupled with the resources maintained here on JaguarForums.com any new-to-Jaguar owner who does not equip themselves with all the manuals, TSBs, wiring diagrams, service tips & tricks, write-ups etc relevant to their model is . . . to put it mildly . . . short changing themselves.

Well done, mate! Long may ye continue!

Ken

Thanks gus, your website is a brilliant resource! It was reading through it that gave me the confidence to actually buy the car and I haven't regretted it!

Made this test box for the convertible top pump and valve operation. Presently working on a test box that will show the switches in the header and the pump operation at the same time. With a little luck and a lot of help it will take the guess work out of the roof operation.

The two videos below are what I have on the pump operation on an open and close operation.
