I've been having some intermittent cylinder misses, sometimes throwing it into "restricted performance". Until I get home an re-start only to find it is now running fine...
Decided to replace the coil packs and new iridium plugs. When I took the covers off, I found that I had several different brands of coil packs, obviously replaced by prior owners.
I replaced all of them with Denso coils, and WOW what a difference!
I advise all of the home mechanics, don't be cheap and use the off-brand coil packs out there on ebay and such.
They cost a lot more, but why put cheap parts on a thoroughbred?

I receive a package from Rock Auto about every other day, so I'm really happy to hear you were able to get Denso coils from them. The last time I needed some, they didn't have any Densos so I ordered NGKs instead (the Densos may be NGKs or vice versa).

For the past 15 years or so my experience has been that as long as I stick with either Denso or NGK, I will get a top-quality component. The applicable vehicles in our stable have been Jaguar, Lexus, Subaru, and Ram....
