Default New exhaust tips

I finally retired the original exhaust tips on my '99 in favor of these tasty tips I found on ebay for $28 (U.S.) each. They are slightly oval & slanted, 3.25" across (vs. 3" on the originals) w. very nice stainless finish & curves that complement the XK8. The originals were leaving light residue on the rear bumper, so I positioned these about 1" rearward from stock position. Quick tack weld ($32) by my muffler guy & the Jag is ready for another 125k miles. 2 1 4 inch Polished Stainless Steel Exhaust Tip with Slanted 3 1 4" Oval Outlet | eBay

New tips are slightly wider than stock (3.25" vs. 3") & a bit rounder.

I positioned the top center of the ends even w. the bumper lip above them.

A bit more presence than stock tips but still classy.

New tips are 1" further out from stock position to eliminate residue on bumper.

Very nice indeed. The extra "presence" works in this case.

A good buy!

How easy (difficult) was it to remove the old tips?

Very easy w. a Sawzall. I cut them off just forward of the tips, fit the new tips over the tailpipes to the desired position, then welded.

Default Ehaust tips

I changed off the Mina tips for Borlla, 12" pipes I had hanging around. Seemed to help with the typical drone. Vrrrrrrm.
