new to the site; greetings to all!
I decided to join after purchasing a 2001 XKR. Drives very well and smooth; then...I had the oil and filter changed by a trusted friend and mechanic shop owner. He took it for a test drive and it was smoking. We determined oil in the air box. Otherwise the car is very solid with no other discernible issues. Am I correct to assume to first check/clean the load breather tubes? what else after? The problem does not manifest until we hit SC boost. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...FYI sold a Mustang GT "fox body" to get the Jag...The Jag exudes class and sophistication; The Mustang, although good, is brutish in comparison!

Welcome,
Totally different driving experience. One which at my age I prefer. The looks you get and the positive remarks are great. Was looking at convertible vettes,Z28s,and GT mustangs. Couldn't be happier with my choice. Took a friends 99 convertible vette for a ride after buying the XK8. Quicker? Yes. Fun to drive? Yes. But the Jag just out classes it in every way.

Hello and thanks for the opportunity to join Jaguar Forums!
Last month I bought a Red with Tan Top 2003 Jaguar XK8 Convertible with 21,210 miles on it.
I was certain something was wrong with it because both the purchase price and the miles were so low for a 2003 auto.
Checking it out indicated its history was clear and not involved in any accidents. What a wonderful car to drive and own!
I am not new to Jaguars as I also have a 1965 Jaguar XKE, Series 1, Roadster that I purchased used in 1970 which means that I have had it for 44 years and
Currently it is under going its 2nd complete restoration.
Road & Track featured my Jaguar in the September 1973 issue titled : "Buying a Used E-Type" So I am delighted to own 2 Terrific Jaguars.
