Arrow Newbie : How Do You Disconnect The Antenna I Need Help Please Thanks

I would like to disconnect the antenna I dont really like it plus I just only listen to CD's. From what I searched on the forum I found a Antenna Mod with a switch to control the antenna. However I went on another forum and they say if you take fuse 9 out for the antenna it will be disable. Another person said to disconnect the harness thats connecting to the antenna motor. Which route will be the easiest or is there other methods about doing it ?

This might help! https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=24564

If you look just above the listing for your post you will find "FAQ" for the New Guys.

Removing Fuse #9 (in the trunk) is the quickest way to disable the antenna. But the switch is a much better idea.
I saw that someone had used a blank switch position on the left side of the dash for the switch, but that is where the "Forward Alert" sw. is on my car.

When I added the console switch, I also added a wire antenna in the top hidden by the headliner. It is tapped into the coax. Works well when in, or near, town. Only raise the mast antenna when necessary.

If I removed the fuse #9 would that cause any problems or trigger any alerts ? Also what about removing the harness that connects to the motor ? I check the switch method out but when I read the pdf it says thats mod works for an XK8 the blank vent space near the valet and didnt know if XKR owners could do it.

FJK, i wondered what would optionally go in that blank. Does that have something to do with the adaptive cruise?

If your blank switch spot is open, it will work on your R model as well. Nothing fancy with that layout. i'd hate for you to need the FM and have to get back into the boot to reconnect it. if you have the time, the switch is a great idea.

JagXKR: No codes or messages will result from removing Fuse#9.

H2O: Forward Alert uses the same hardware as the adaptive cruise control.
They can be used together or each can be used independently.
I really like the adaptive cruise control. Forward alert is a pain.

Fred I don't have either on my 2000. What does forward alert do, tell you that you are getting too close to the car ahead?

You are correct. Forward Alert will tell you "Driver Intervention Required". It does not apply braking. The distance at which it initiates the warning is adjustable using the same switches as the adaptive cruise control uses to set the following distance.
