No surprise I guess, but I'd rather it not be so obvious
Today I took the seats out of the 04 XK8 to give the carpet a good cleaning and to fix both headrest drive cables.
While cleaning the passenger seat frame I ran across this.
Yeah I know its in a hidden place but I would still rather not see a Ford sticker in my Jaguar.

It may not be glamorous, but it is probably one of the most dependable parts of the entire car. LOL!
Actually, I have had almost no problems with mine whatsoever in the four years that I have owned it.

Of course, no one can stop you from paying full boat at the Jaguar dealer if it's important to you to have only Jaguar invoices in your maintenance file.
Keep in mind that without Ford's financial backing and quality control involvement during the 1990s and 2000s, Jaguar would have died a slow death years ago....

You will occasionally find little Ford logos on electric bits in some Ferraris. I don't mind, as Ford is a more preferred component supplier than Lucas, Marelli, etc. As long as they stick to providing nuts & bolts - and not engineering the entire car.
Sure beats driving a Lamborghini Audi made from VW Beetle parts!

My Audis did indeed have VW stickers on some parts. The surprising part of this story is that the VW parts were more expensive than the Audi stuff typically was.
And just wait until you find an India Tata sticker on the new Jags!

It looks worse than it really is. During the weekend I was watching the Velocity channel and a 2006 Ford Gt40 (with 6 miles on it) sold for Over $300K. To make ourselves feel better about Ford stickers in our Jags, let's hope that the parts are shared between the XK8(R) and the Gt40 and not Taurus.
I think 3/4 of a Subaru has Nissan stickers everywhere.
Just waiting for Tata to begin printing brochures for their automotive products. Jags and those three-wheeled phone booths in the same catalog!

I can feel your pain
... but VW also owns Bugatti ... think Veyron, 1200 HP with a top speed of 268 mph, street legal and the highest performing production car in history. Just imagine the reaction when the owner of this $1 million plus car finds VW stickers! lol
And it was VW that saved Lamborghini from oblivion.
The world of cars is a strange and ever changing landscape.

Well, yes technically they saved the corporate name "Lamborghini"... but the last time I sat in one I wanted to cry. The soul just ain't there anymore. Sometimes I feel that brands, like famous singers, should crash & burn in their prime so that the legend isn't tarnished.
