Is this the normal state of convertible head liner?
I notice on my 2003 XKR convertible, that when the top is retracted, the interior headliner material is quite loose and flappy in the breeze. Not like detached and flowing like a flag or something but certainly only attached to the roof structure in certain spots, and thus flaps around a little in the breeze. This is the main reason I like to use the cover - worried the headliner will get damaged from the wind. Many times I'd like to forego the cover though for convenience.
Just wondering if this is the normal state of things with the convertible, as mine is in otherwise excellent condition? Obviously doesn't have a hard complete surface to be adhered to like a coupe - so maybe this is how it always was? With the top raised, it stays pretty much where it should be, and doesn't droop terribly, but is of course not as tight as a coupe roof would be.
That does seem a little loose, but not too bad. Previous owner likely didn't use tonneau cover very often.
I would suggest putting on the cover is worth the effort. Not just to preserve the material but it will get very dirty very quickly. It is not easy to clean from my experience.
