Default OBAD reader in/out

In a previous post I asked of car needed to be locked everyday to prevent battery from running down. They said only if car is not driven for a while because computer doesn't go into sleep mode. Then someone said NOT to leave OBAD scanner plugged in because it too doesn't allow computer to sleep. Does the same rule apply here, if U drive everyday then ur ok . Please advise.

Mike,

It was me posted about not leaving the Bluetooth OBD adapter plugged in.

When I first got mine, I left it plugged in so it was always ready to run TorquePro. Even with a new battery I was getting unusual electrical issues and one non-start with the car standing for two to three day periods. When I checked, the port has a permanent live feed with the ignition off.

I don't leave it plugged in and all is back to normal.

Graham

I keep my UltraGauge plugged in. I haven't experienced any problems.

I leave mine plugged in all the time too with no issues so far (knock on wood) but I may unplug it when not using. Why tempt fate?
