oem lug nuts
Hi Guys,
I am sure some of you know this already but thought I would share this purchase today. I was at Auto Parts Store trying to figure out a temporary fix for some lug nuts that came without washers or missing all together when I bought the car. They offered to look up the oem nut.
At just over $6 for brand new it seems like a good deal to me, and they had them next day for me. These are sourced through a company called World Pac that serves stores and repair shops selling oem parts.
Look like a perfect match.

Hi All,
These seem to be the oem lug nuts.
So I am guessing there are many of you that have had issue with the lug nuts as they have a stainless steel cap covering. I see a little crimp in the stainless where nut area meets washer area.
Not to say someone couldn't make a better lug nut and if I was buying some new wheels I would probably be buying a new set of good lugs to match.
All I know is I was missing one (security nut) when I bought my car recently and when working on the front I found one regular nut and one security nut without washers. Every other lug almost 20 years old seemed to be in pretty good shape at almost 120K miles, much better looking than my wheels after starting their life up north.
Here is another guess I have for those with their personal crappy lug nuts. You may have a guy with an impact socket the wrong size mashing the hell out of the cap. A socket a little too big can do some pretty good damage behind an impact. If personally doing work and you like to use an impact wrench for speed, initially loosen by hand when taking off, and when putting them on turn the impact way down where you have to turn it up a bit even just so you are only using it to spin them on and use final torque by hand. Any respectable tire shop should be happy to do the same for you if you just let the guy know the stainless caps have issue.
I bet if these had been solid and chrome mine would look like hell due to the age.
For the guys out there looking to buy a used lug nut or a few on ebay to replace a lost or abused lug these are a great option. These are just about the same price they get for a pack of cheapo similar lugs in the store.
The bag part number CCC 7028 on google will find more info and some comparable pricing. The guy at the counter gave me a great price comparing what I see for the same part number. Maybe it is because of the new to me Jag, but I have been in the store a lot lately. If this keeps up I am going to need to put all their names on the Christmas card list...Ha Ha
