Which oil cooler hose has failed you ?
Afrer reading the forum horror stories about oil
cooler line failures, I replaced all hoses not long after I purchased my 2002 XKR, around 1998.
The new hoses were all Jaguar branded hoses and didn’t look too old. Were they date coded or stamped ? I can’t recall.
About 3 years went by then one of the newish engine side hoses (driver side USA) blew right at the crimp. It only takes a few seconds for 7.5 liters of new Mobil 1 to gush out and lubricate the highway. UGH
From what I’ve read on the forum, the engine side hoses seem to be more likely to fail than the cooler side two hoses . More vibration ? More heat ?
