Default Oil pan gasket cross ref. question - RESOLVED

don't see this one in the sticky list, though there is a mention of the 4.0 XK8 / XKR valve cover gaskets being the same as the Lincoln LS .........

Q: will the oil pan gasket from a 2000- 2006 Lincoln LS (3.9 !) fit a 4.0 XK8 / XKR ?

Default Will not fit

I bought the gasket for the 3.9 Ford Thunderbird engine. The "tabs" are wrong. The gasket that failed is a Mahle OS32287

I bought one for a Lincoln LS and it didn't fit. I bought one from the local Jaguar dealer, didn't have time for one to be shipped, and it fit perfectly.

guess I'll make the 100 mile journey to the Jaguar dealer, as I can't find one from the forum sponsors without a 10+ day wait. Getting close to an oil change interval and wanted to fit a pan leak at the same time.

thanks for the heads up !!!

This is the web site I found that claimed the Ford Lincoln gasket would fit:
