Oil pressure light but gauge always reds in the centre?

Oil pressure light but gauge always reads in the centre?

Hi all I've noticed that the red light is always on near the oil pressure gauge but it reads in the middle and appears fine anyone have any idea how to extinguish this light

I would check the oil pressure, and if that is OK, I would replace the sensor for the light........Just what I would do......Mike

The gauge is designed to read center scale as long as you have over about eight pounds, so follow Mike's advice since you don't know if you have a serious problem.

Ditto. Never ignore a low oil pressure warning until you've checked the actual pressure. Same thing if the gauge is low, but the light is out. Make sure.
