Default Oil Pressure Tap Point?

I want to install a manual oil pressure gauge. Does anyone know where the tap point is for a gauge kit?

No need to bring up real gauge, it will not work for my specific application.

Near the oil filter is the oil pressure switch .You will need an adaptor ( lots on ebay but get the right thread )so you can fit the switch and the pipe you have . How are you going to get the pipe through to the dash area ?

I know this doesn't address your question, but wouldn't it be neat if someone came up with a small gauge kit with oil, temp, and volt meter to fit A pillar eye level just to the left of the windshield (on LHD models) that wouldn't obstruct view.

You can already get cheap plug and play OBD gauges that show the temperature, volts etc. The problem is getting the oil pressure, which isn't supported on the car as standard, so you have to plumb an oil pressure sender into the existing fitting. For me that just introduces another failure point and I don't really want to be fiddling about with something that is working, but for others the reward outweighs the risk.

My thread about the OBD gauge. 5 years on and still working fine:-

On my 2005 XK8 Oil pressure can be read with my scanner. My apologies to scottatl, I didn't mean to Hijack your thread.

The old style electric gauges are not very accurate but this looks OK
I dont like the copper pipe on yours . they do plastic ones which would stand vibration better.

Are you sure that is showing you the pressure? There are various PIDs for the oil pressure signal, but they are just on-off, If Jaguar ever did fit an oil pressure sender rather than just a switch, that would be a good upgrade route for everyone else.

That's interesting as my X100 can't do that. I'm not sure that my X150 can either.

I Could be wrong. It could have been Temperature that the scanner showed. My son ran the tests. I'll asked him when he gets home this evening and clear things up.
