Default Old and Confused

Hi again. Mine is a 02 xkr convertible. Hopefully I am on the correct Forum. I continue to loose my memory and my energetic behaviors. However, I still have two xkrs to tend. an 02 and an 11.

My problem now is that I have moved and finally set up most of my garage in my new digs with my lift and lots of tools.

My 02 battery has totally failed and I got a free replacement from Auto Zone. I hooked it up and while the engine turns, it does not fire up. Checking my trunk I see that the positive connection from the trunk fuse box is not connected to anything. Does it connect to the block of connections just behind the spare tire or somewhere else. Since that controls the fuel pumps, I suspect that this connection is important ??

Sorry guys and gals, please put up with me. I'm 76 and while I do not feel that I am over the hill yet, the other side looks closer than ever !! Also, when I reconnect, do I have to do a lot of resets ??

Thanks,
Ken in WV By Golly !!

Ken,

YES - you are in the right place for posting questions about your 2002 XKR.

The positive battery lead is connected to the high power protection module (item 5).

From here power is connected to the starter motor and to other systems on the vehicle through the luggage compartment fuse box, passenger and driver side fuse boxes, engine compartment fuse box and engine management fuse box.

The wire I was trying to find the connection point for is the large red one in the wiring bundle behind the battery coming from the fuse box. I believe it also connects to #5 ??
Thanks,
Ken
