One fault creates another.
Sorry for my absence, work and domestic chores have put all car related stuff on the back burner. My 2000 XKR has seen no action in months and has been garage bound. Any ideas on a problem that has occurred would be much appreciated.
No ABS, No traction control, no stability control. I checked the forum and having had this problem off and on for some time i decided to have my ABS unit rebuilt. So far so good.
Replaced unit and everything seems ok. All warning lights have gone, great result.
The problem I have is that the light on the traction control on -off button is permanently on and the traction control will not switch off.
I seldom switch off the T/C but never the less would like the option.
Any thoughts would be gratefully appreciated.
Many thanks,
Dave

Please search for the battery 'hard reset' procedure. It will clear out everything that might be 'ghosting' around your electronics system, and reset everything back to default values, well almost everything. Followed with the battery 're-connect' procedure, will eliminate some of the time involved with the vehicle re-learning kick down points, WOT, fuel trims etc.

FYI
The Traction Control System is 'OFF' when the light is 'ON', to alert you that the system has been switched 'OFF'. Normally, it will blink when the Traction Control System is engaged by the vehicle, to let you know that the Traction Control System is being utilized.
However, it's normal state is no light, which indicates the system is 'ON' or enabled. When switched 'OFF', the light is lit and accompanied by text on the display confirming this state. So if your light is lit, the Traction Control System is 'OFF'.

Well chaps it seems my traction control issue has been resolved. I checked the T/C switch and it was working correctly so I moved on to giving my car a hard reset. I followed the instructions on Jaguar Forums and hey presto the light went out on my T/C switch and it is operating correctly.
Having read other threads referring to "hard resets"curing rogue problems I was very pleased indeed to find it cured my issue.
Thanks Jaguar Forums and thanks to the chaps who responded to my thread.
Dave.
