ongoing battery connect/disconnect?
Have my car in storage w no access to 110v which means no battery tender. I removed the battery (1 yr old AGM, 880 CCV) charged it fully (12.9) and let it sit for 2 weeks. Virtually no loss (12.8). Reinstalled the battery. The car started immediately and ran well. I left the battery connected in the car for 2 weeks. Got (12.1) and the car almost didn't start. Does turning on the alarm reduce voltage drain any? Any other tricks?
The electronics in these cars are temperamental. I really don't like the idea but if the battery maintains voltage (and I'd check), ok to reconnect the ground and drive every 2-4 weeks?

If the battery is good you should be able to leave it disconnected for 3 months and still restart. Starting it for a few minutes every couple of weeks is a waste of time . why not take it out and take it home with you and keep it topped up.
I disconnect my XJ8 in May and it sits in the Arizona sun (garaged) until Nov. Always starts right up. Same with My XK8 in storage at home. I agree with Pistnbroke on the monthly startups, think they cause more harm than good if you have good storage. Ive been doing this for many years on many different vehicles. Tom.
Jaguar installs 'TRANSIT RELAYS' in cars destined for transport to destinations taking an extended period arrival time. (cargo ships and other transport)
Most circuits (if not ALL) are electrically disconnected from the main harness and NO HARM is done the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When the car 'WAKES-UP' from it's 'slumber', it is a BRAND NEW CAR ready for it's journey into the world.
Why would a few months of disconnected electrical power be cause for concern?
