OT oxy alternative for rusted nuts and bolts
I dropped into my local DIY store to pick up a new propane can as I needed to do some plumbing and came across an alternative I had not seen before.
Please excuse me if everyone already knows about this, but it was new to me so may be to a few others.
The gas was called MAP-PRO and claimed a much hotter flame than the normal propane/butane mix.
Now as you will know Kim's XK8 is plagued by rusted nuts and bolts, and having tried a propane gas flame to release I found it not to be hot enough.
I ended up buying the special torch (£30) and gas (£12) on ebay as they were half the price there compare to the DIY store and gave them a try on a bolt to see how long it would take to get it to a red heat.
Here it is, I am sure it won't be long before I need to try it out on Kim's car.

MAPP is much hotter than Propane - have had a Rothenburger MAPP torch (built-in piezo ignition) for ten years or so, mainly for plumbing jobs, but its great for rusty nuts and bolts (and reluctant barbecues) as well.
