Default Outside mirrors will not adjust

on my 2000 XK8, the mirror adjustment for the outside mirros does not work. I also believe that they are suppose to rotate down when in reverse. Has anyone troubleshooted the mirros controls and have any suggestions?

Just a small point - the mirror folding in or out only occurs when you are travelling at under 10mph - ie, best when stationary. Are you trying to fold them whilst you are moving?

I don't know about automatic folding down. Mine don't, but I do it manually when I need to.

if you have power folding mirrors..put the rocker switch to the near side..put car in reverse..pull the joystick towards the rear ..and the mirror will tilt so you can see the kirb...works on mine

I also have a 200 XK8 and my side mirrors will only move to top and the inside and will not move to the bottom or outside. Would like any suggestions for a repair.

My mirrors started to act up last year, certain directions not working then finally the switch quit altogether. This last winter I finally took the door apart removed the switch and dismantle it. Do this very carefully and remember how each part is in it. The little contacts on the circuit board were corroded I had to sand them carefully (used 1200 grit paper. I covered them with dielectric grease and reassembled. Only one direction worked. I disassembled, re-sanded the contacts, re-greased and reassembled two more times and they it's been working fine ever since. I believe the folding mirrors were an option.
