Default P1000 P1637 Codes

1999 XK8, Car fixed after ignition coil failure. No check eng light or restricted perf. car running great... But, I got P1000 and P1637 codes that will not clear. Is there a trick to resetting them? My Accutron OBDII reset the other associated codes after the coil failure, and I'm stumped how to clear these last codes.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Wheeble.

The P1000 is a status record indicating that 'drive cycles' have not been completed since a 'clear'. Just ignore it and it will go away.

P1637 on the other hand decodes as follows:
CAN open circuit fault
ABS/TCCM to ECM circuit fault
ABS/TCCM failure
ECM failure

That's not going to clear until the problem is cleared. The chart says only that the cruise control is inhibited.

The cruise work fine, no issues with the car at all. I think the code also sets if there were 2 successive sets of the same code. I'll drive the car as much as possibe this weekend and see what happens. Nothing straight forward with these Jags. I have had ABS faults a couple of times in the last 10 months or so, that might be what set the code.

One last thought: I am sure you have been changing all the electronics out with the battery disconnected. But, why not try a cold boot to the entire system by disconnecting the battery and even shorting the disconnected chassis ground cable to the B+ to drain the entire system for a minute. If the code is still there you are not quite through yet.
