I'd like to fit a "JAGUAR" boot plinth to my XK8, but I can only find the chrome type (https://www.adamesh.co.uk/jaguar-xk8...nth-6662-p.asp). I'd like to get it painted body color like on later XKRs, can the chrome be sanded and painted over somehow or do I need to order a different part?
I have a chrome license plate frame along with larger polished tail pipes and to me that's enough.

I am slightly confused. Can I assume you already have the chrome plinth and want to change it to a body coloured one? I doubt if you can successfully paint a chrome one. You can do it but doubt it will last.
Advertise it as a swap. Many owners think the chrome looks much better than the painted version, including me. I went the other way from painted to chrome. I think it 'lifts' the back end. Then again its personal taste. Have a read https://www.jaguarforum.com/showthre...l=1#post923525

I don't have one yet, I'm looking for the part number for the non-chrome version, so I can have it painted body color. I can only find the chrome variant online.
