Painted Calipers

Nice job!
Govatos is right, that's a good tip on painting the back of the pads too (almost then makes it seem like a "full" brembo caliper), but the pads have to be removed for when you paint them otherwise the paint will hold the old pads in place and make a future replacement difficult.
Also, I'd give it a few coats of a high temp clearcoat, makes it last MUCH longer while preserving the shine and making sure the color doesn't fade. This is the 4th car I've painted calipers on and the clear coat makes all the difference for a long lasting finish years down the road.
Lastly, you can get "Jaguar" vinyl lettering, which you can then clearcoat over...nice touch that I personally think looks great, and the decals are cheap, just google for them if you're interested.
Overall I think for us non-brembo owners the Jag calipers look great painted, especially with that clean retainer spring in place too, a nice clean look without the cost of switching to a brembo system. A few pics of mine just to share..

(would pop even more with bigger wheels, but I'm happy with my XKR as it is )

That's a mid 80's XJ-6 IRS. I put it in my 1936 Chevrolet project car. It is a custom "Scimitar GTE" style IRS conversion of my own design. Fabricated bottom plate, torque stays, tie bars, and trailing arms. Look in "my garage" for more info. (Not trying to hijack the thread!) MC
P.S. This is what happens when you take a Jag IRS out of "the cage."

Buy the way boys, unless you are doing serious competition work, high temp. paint is unnecessary. I have used Rustoleum products with good results. Ditto on the clear coat Dirtyo.
Don't neglect the disk center hubs. Depending on your style of wheel a rusty center hub showing thru your wheel spokes is a mighty unattractive picture. I like gloss black in this application. Do not get paint on the hub to wheel mounting surfaces.

My 2001 XKR painted calipers
Here you go my 2001 XKR, I did the calipers and the drums.
I chose to do two colors, red for the calipers and gold for the drums.
My car color Roman Bronze has some gold fleck in it so I thought the color combo would go nicely.
Had the local sign shop do my vinyl lettering, just found some artwork on the internet and had them cut it out.
Notice the lettering on the rims as well.
The vinyl is gold color, too.
The job took 2 days , remove wheels , clean calipers using supplied brake cleaner and wire brush drill bit and a lot of elbow grease, paint, let dry between coats (2) and a day of curing the paint apply vinyl lettering and spray clear coat (quality automotive clear coat) over color and vinyl (4 coats).
The job has been done for about six months now and have not had any change in color or any chips.
After I completed the wheels it was so much fun ? and I enjoyed the results so much, I then tackled the engine!
Viola!

I used the G2 caliper paint on mine. It's a thick epoxy paint that provides a nice heavy coat with a good gloss and doesn't chip, very durable. I topped it off with two coats of high temp clear coat (Duplicolor).
Since this thread I cleaned up and sprayed my hubs with a high temp silver paint, they look clean and get lost behind the wheels (now 20'' Detroits).
Nice job Vettegood, lots of attention to detail on your car. I'm personally not digging the gold on the hubs, but other than that everything looks tops notch, and your engine bay looks great (did you paint that yourself?).
