Default "Passenger Door Open" message

I have the "Passenger Door Open" message all the time with thewindow down about 1". It does not move per any window control switch nor per the operation ofthe top or exterior door handle. Any way to jump the door latch switch or trip it so that the door is "closed"? I suspect that it is causing many issues with the door, window, mirror, etc.

Try lubricating the latch first and then work the door a few times then let it sit and see what takes place. The door latch is often forgotten when it comes to lubrication.

Talking Interesting fix!

I tried a few suggested cures. Pulled and checked the #15 fuse for the door control module. Have lubricated the latch a few times over the past week. Open and closed door multiple times and still got open door message. Moved on to some other issues. Top was operating very slowly so I checked it. Lubricated all the joints. Cleaned and silicone the rams and checked the hydraulic fluid level. It was low so I picked up a liter tin at AutoZone for $24.
Added the right amount of oil to bring level up to upper line and tested the top. Ran it through a number of cycles and it works great!!! Less than 15 seconds in either direction. AND NOW THE "PASSENGER DOOR OPEN" MESSAGE HAS GONE AWAY!!! That in turn has resulted in a number of other items now working, such as the trip odometer and mpg readouts! Guess the electrical system requires lubrication by way of the top pump.
