Hi guys,two days ago I got the dreded central door lock problem on the passinger side door UK model ,now the door won't lock by fob ,key or pushing the door handle from the inside,I referred to rev Sams video that was a godsend by the way (thanks sam),found this very straight forwad to do around 45mins as I did not have the anti theft bar fitted that sam refered too but what I did notice on my 2001 xk8 different from Sams 2003 was that if you look at Sams video you will notice him point out at what look like a amber colour tube looking device next to the thin vertical bar wich mine did not have so I presume this may just be fitted on the driver side door as Sams video is obviously a us xk8,anyway I gave the locking mechanism a good cleanup but to no avail so before I order the new mechanism is there anything else I need to be checking first,new battery by the way only 3weeks old,thanks guys
