I’m working of my friend’s 2000 Xk8 convertible. It’s running poorly and throwing P0351 and P0353 codes, and displays “Performance Restricted”. I’ve received new ignition coils. Just one question before I start the replacement, after I replace the coils, will the display clear the warning on its own, or does it have to be cleared manually like a CEL? I forgot to mention it’s in limp mode I’m sure related to the ignition coils

 

Even the MIL (aka CEL) will self-clear if you wait a few warm-ups.

 

Thanks all. I replaced the coils indicated (cyl 1 & 3). Car is now out of limp mode, codes are clear. Now for the next issues, top not working, and top not latched (on a different thread).
