I was taking pictures of my 2001 XK8 Conv. engine and noticed an open tube or hose. I am not sure if it is part of the cooling system, EGR system, or what. Could someone have any idea what that is?

The photo that I am attaching should show the top of the engine towards the firewall. The throttle cable and part of the throttle body are seen from the photo. The open black tube is sticking out from the edge of the plastic engine cover.

Is it the same on your XK8 or do I have a problem?

The tube is plugged and it's supposed to be that way. They all have it.
