Thumbs up Please accept my apologies for beeing gone so long

Hi Y'all

Well.... as some of you may remember i had completed my Engine rebuild at the end of last year which included a complete Nikasil reline with total seal rings and lots of ceramic treatment... Well i was fast on my way to launching my company with rebuild service and was working on a 15HU rear differential swap kit..

Then i found out i had B-Cell Lymphoma on my kidneys, pancreas, and one massive tumor wrapped around my heart, esophagus and was crushing my aorta, and Superior vena cava by 75%. This had the side affect of blood clots running from my neck all the way down to my wrists on both arms. The tumor was crushing my lungs by approx %65. So needless to say i have spent the last several months doing absolutely nothing.. Life came to a grinding halt.. 15 rounds of radiation and 6 rounds of chemo later.. i am cancer free! and i am back in the saddle again. I am incredibly excited for the differential swap kit.. this kit comes built with the following parts

* Used differential cleaned. chemically stripped, and powder coated black.
* All new Timken and SKF bearings
* New 3.07 Gears - see below for notes on gear ratio.
* New 26 spline 4 bolt flange - custom designed to fit the stock XK8 / XKR drive shaft
* 1541-H Induction hardened Steel 30-Spline Stub Axel's
* Detroit Truetrac limited slip differential
* Modified rear cover configured to fit the smaller confines of the XK8 / XKR suspension.
* Matching rear suspension plate - This is a direct bolt in. No modification of your suspension required.
* All new seals.

This kit will be a direct bolt in. There will be no need to modify any thing in your vehicle. Just swap the differential and the suspension plate and away you go. This differential also has the added benefit of having a drain plug and is a 8.5 inch ring gear VS a 7 inch ring gear.

GEAR NOTE: Yes our cars came with 3.06 gears. Switching to a 3.07 gear will constitute a increase of approx 6 rpm's at 55mph. Our cars are not that sensitive as to throw codes or have issues shifting. You could almost achieve this RPM difference by having bad tires.

We should have our first test unit complete in the next few weeks. When it is available i will let y'all know. Our next project will be a single piece front lower A-arm.

Wow! The main thing is you are back. What an experience! Best of luck...with your health and your new rebuild service.
Btw, that growl is something I'd love to hear at least once a day.

I Love the sound of my car.. its intoxicating. I have had a few conversations of working with NP to market a full exhaust kit modeled after my system onces i get things good and going with the differentials and block reconditioning / engine rebuilds. My intention for the engine's is to provide a rebuild service for your long block out of the 1997 to 2001 XK8 / XKR with Nikasil block engines. So when you have your car 20 years form now it will have the original serial number engine in the car. This will help to maintain the cars value.

My intention was to have this done 7 months ago.. but cancer got in the way.. i just thank god every day that im alive.

Dan welcome back.
I have enjoyed the magic you had started with the re-lining process for our engines.
Having watched my wife undergo cancer treatments twice; she finished a month ago and like you free at last, I understand what you have gone thru.

Now enjoy every minute!

Keep the goodies coming. Rooting for a good test.

With Avos working the top and you working on the guts and rear, I might just go out and buy a now worthless 98-99 Xkr and wait for your results. Imagine a super car for less than $15 k. An a good looking one too.

Thank you guys I really appreciate your kind words. I spent a few weeks in the hospital on blood thinners while undergoing carefully planed radiation treatments. The most painful part of this was the biopsies. They had to go through my chest bone to get a biopsy of the large tumor and then they drilled into my pelvic bone to get a bone biopsy. And they discovered via the cat scan that my bronchial tubes do not have cartilage support. So they had to do the biopsy surgery on my chest with me awake. This was due to the fact that if they gave me full sedation I would have just choked to death due to the fact that the tumor was sitting on my bronchial tubes. But the worst experience was immediately followed up by one of the most entertaining. When they're rold me into my room after the surgery I was high as a kite on morphine. And when I arrived I had about eight women waiting for me. Half of which I dated at one point and slept with, the other half I have not. And they all gave each other the look of death. I kept thinking " I want them to all go away. but I'm probably not going to get this chance again so I might as well watch and enjoy" then my "X" walked in the door. Every one has that one BIG "X" in there life. well when she walked In the tension skyrocketed in the room and the rest of the girls look like they were going to kill her. My mom stood up and walked out of the room saying "That's it! I'm out of here". But my dad's response was classic " my boy has his own harem and there! that's my SON!"
