Please clear up some idler pulley confusion.
I need to replace my idler pulley, which I believe the correct part number is AJ82266 1 (or C2C22758).
When I look at pictures in the various on-line parts retailers, they all look like the tensioner pulley, which has a rounded outer shoulder. The idler pulley in my case has a raised outer edge, presumably to stop the belt from flying off.
My question is; it it acceptable to use the round edge pulley or not?
Thanks.

You can use the rounded edge pulley. I have replaced lots of those plastic pulleys with raised edges because the bearings went bad in them. If I were you, I'd replace both the idler and tensioner pulley with that same P/N you listed above. The only thing is the bolt that holds the tensioner pulley to the tensioner itself is reverse threads. I wouldn't be concerned with a belt flying off, the harmonic balancer, A/C pulley, power steering pump pulley and water pump pulley have raised edges for belt alignment. There's more than enough ridges to make sure that doesn't happen.

Just done this job today.
Used Dayco 89016 (no flange) for both tensioner and idler, $19 each from Amazon US.
Despite the low mileage, both were noisy: particularly the idler.
I believe the idler on the later models doesn't have the flange. Jaguar presumably decided that it wasn't necessary due to its proximity to the flanged alternator pulley.
