Default Please Help! Emissions test failure

I have 2002 XKR... after 2, month of fixing everything on the car... my car still failure the emission test...

my mechanic told me... "Induction Elbow: #AJ8-1367" parts was made incorrectly and manufacture recall the parts without release date for replacement parts. (part did not have hole for the EGR valve to fit)

Georgia Clea Air Force is requesting letter from Jaguar corp. for faulty parts...

I got letter from jaguar dealer service department and mechanic... but, can not get any letter from Jaguar corp...

thank you for any help.

are you asking about the parts recall, and when a replacement will be available?

What is the cause of the emission test failure...do you have any codes?

Default thanks

I don't have failure code... but, I send the all documents from my dealership about re-call on the parts and there are any new parts available to fix the issues...

GA clean air force approved non-conforming waver form to pass the emission.

thanks again for replay.

If you don't have any codes, why did the car fail the emissions test?

Well the OP said "Induction Elbow: #AJ8-1367" failed because it did not have a place for the EGR valve to fit. So the GA Clean Air Force wants the company to write a letter saying "Induction Elbow: #AJ8-1367" is faulty in order for the XKR to pass the e-test.

The OP's problem is that he can't get a letter from the company stating this, only a letter from the local dealer which apparently isn't good enough.

In GA, the inspection station only reads the output from the on board computer via the OBD port. If it finds no error codes, it passes.

take it to a different station.sometimes the testers get over zellous in their jobs.i've done that in the past with some other cars, however your already in the system and that might pose a problem.but its worth a shot..steven
