Default Poly Bushings

Has anyone installed PowerFlex or other poly bushings on the rear a-frame and rear sway bar links of their XK8\R and if so how have they performed?

Thanks

Where have you found a supplier of poly bushes for the rear A-frame?

I've seen them for the front upper wishbone but can only find OE for the A-frame.

I purchased my poly bushings thru Kevin @ Design XKR. He should be able to supply you with a complete vehicle set.

Thanks - I've bookmarked the site for future reference.

HTML coding skills leave a bit to be desired but the product range looks good.

It's the only photo on your website that's the size of a postage stamp!

Easier or harder to fit than OE? Have you had any customer sets out there long enough to compare how well they last?

There's not exactly a lot to show, I would say easier to fit tah original, the rear main frame mounts require a good fly press or similar and a way to hold it level whilst you push them out and in again.

If you click on the picture on my website it will take you to the Powerflex XK section which lists all the bushes with prices of which I give a 20% discount to UK customers.

Its quite a job to do the lot in one go, a ramp is escential to do it safely

My main question is how well do the PowerFlex poly bushings perform on the rear frame and sway bar links. Do they noticeably improve the handling without degrading the ride too much? I have the PowerFlex bushings on the front top control arm and they have been excllent. Im looking for the same effect in back.

Thanks

I have had them in the back of my car for app 3 years & had no issues. They will definetly make an improvement to the ride & handling.

How long / how many miles have you had the front bushes fitted?

I have had the PowerFlex poly bushings on the front top control arms for about 10 months/5000 miles. I did not install them on the bottom control arms because I was concerned ride quality might suffer, potentially too much road shock/noise might be communicated to the steering wheel/cabin. The PowerFlex bushings are very well made and quite superior to the OEM bushes and should last much longer.

Aaaggghhh! - that's some colour scheme

I've never been a fan of the OEM upper wishbone bushes and had a five day marathon removing the passenger side bolt from my last XK8. If I'd known about Powerflex then, I'd have used them for the rebuild instead of going with the Jaguar ones again.

Goldlion has given his upper wishbone Powerflex a good workout and sounds very happy with them so I'll be contacting you for a set when the weather improves.
