If you're having trouble with your seat control module are you might wanna try this little trick. I have a 2001 XK8 convertible and my driver's seat was having all sorts of problems.(I only bought the car a 1 week ago) When I took the seat out I could not get it to go back and forth to get to the bolts. It would move a little and stop. The fix for that problem was putting a shrink tube around the shaft inside of the controller on the side of the seat that controls that function This allowed it to move backwards and forwards without any problems. But when I went to reinstall it. it would not move back and forth anymore. The control modular was definitely having a problem. So I took the main seat controller from the passenger side because that seat worked great and put it on the driver's side so I could bolt the seat back in to adjusted it for me while I send the controller off to get it fixed. Then I was going to take the controller from the passenger side and put it back. Since the passenger side only had two connections where the driver's side had three connectors I decided to try it and see if the driver's side controller would work on the passenger side. (Nothing to lose) To my amazement I now have a both seat working perfectly. So I just save myself a couple of hundred dollars and since the seats are really moved much it might be a long time before I will have to worry about that again ( I hope). Needless to say, I'm a happy camper :-)
