Hey all,

I have to topped off the power steering reservoir twice since Kelly bought the car back on Sept. 20. No drips on the garage floor and the mechanic can't find a leak either. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

several threads on this, likely fluid is now in boots

 

Had my steering rack replaced today. It was losing all of its fluid within two minutes of filling yet not a drop on the ground. It was leaking into the boot and sloshing around inside but not dripping down. Time for a new or rebuilt rack.

 

What new rack did you get?

 

UPDATE: High pressure line, the mechanic found it today, thank goodness there are two threads on this on the first page.

 

I would recommend the new style line rather than having a local hydrualic shop make an old one. I think the bends in the old style line led to the failure.

I would recommend getting a loose o-ring for the other rack connection when you replace the hi pressure line.
