Question Problem associated with battery?

Am currently dealing with window problem with my 1998 XK8 convertible that I believe will probably correct it self if I replace the battery. Thank you to all who replied to that thread. Now something different. When starting Jag first time that day, it starts right up and runs fine runs fine. After sitting parked at destination for about 1 or 2 hours, I have to hold on the starter for several seconds until it sputters to life and then runs fine. Could this also be connected to battery problem?

Do you get engine starter rotation right away and a lag on cylinder combustion for a full successful start cycle ?

CEL code PO340 for a camshaft position sensor different then the crankshaft position sensor ?

Did you put your cylinders in a bore wash condition ?

There is a fuel rail fitting on the left bank that when depressed should show you if you have correctly trapped fuel pressure by the check valve in the fuel pump and non cycling fuel injectors

This trapped fuel pressure is needed for the next engine start after your last engine run

If it is not there the fuel pump runs for 4 seconds only on ignition key rotation to charge the fuel rails

After a light off the CKPS sees engine rotation and turns the pump back on for the duration of your drive

With a COLD start being OK but a WARM start difficult, my first suspect would be Engine Coolant Temperature sensor (see item 2):

As with any powertrain issue, always worth getting the codes read to see if there's any stored or pending to help troubleshooting.

Thanks for the replies from Parker7 and GGG After replacing battery, doing a hard rest and reteaching my windows, that situation is fully resolved. The other problem with troublesome starts after driving car and it sitting for maybe an hour, engine has to crank for maybe 1 or 2 seconds and then sputters to life. Since I replaced the battery to correct the window problem, now the engine turns over at a much higher RPM when starting and the delayed starting is much quicker when it occurs. It's now not a significant problem. Daddy always said, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it !" , What do you think?. ,
