Problem with xk8 radio/6 cd changer EXPERT advise needed
Thanks for the advice. I took it apart and cleaned it with the air I use for the keyboard. Used electronic cleaner on the connections. Oiled it with 3 in one and it works fine now.
I was just wondering what the little buttons are for on the sides that say H and V. Is it some kind of leveling and if so how should I set them?

With the help from this thread I was able to get my CD Changer to work again. Was giving me a NO DISC message. Takes patience but got it done. One little trick that was not mentioned was when replacing the rubber mounts I used a small socket 1/4" to press the mounts back into the pins. Hope this fix lasts.
Thanks. I took mine apart and cleaned and cleaned it and it now works fine. The only question I had was the V and H on the sides when it mounts. I know they would be for Horizontal and Vertical but I dont know how to set them.
The fix was shortlived. Back to NO DISC message. There seems to be two similar changers for the XK8's. P/N LNC416OAA and LNF4160AA. Does anyone know if they are interchangeable or what mods are needed to interchange them? Thanks.
Decided to attempt the changer fix again. At one point yesterday, the FM side of the radio had stopped working. Today, with no assistance from me, it is again working just fine.
I got better access to the worm gears on the changer and worked them to what I think is the full stop position. But when I hooked it up to test, the head unit no longer recognizes CD mode. I have tried all the controls to switch it, but it is not recognizing CD mode in any fashion. The fuse index shows radio/tape only and the radio is OK. Is there another fuse for the CD player or have I fried something? I'm sure this will be humorous someday, just not today.
Maybe I don't really need a CD player.

The ones you want are in the corner of the unit.
If you're intertested, I have both a radio and cd player from my 2002 XKR that I just removed a couple months ago; both were working fine. Let me know if you want one or both of them and you can have them for the price of shipping.

Hi. I can't get my cd changer to work. When I hit the cd button on the console, the changer in the trunk sounds like it's going through each cd in the magazine, but it's not fully loading any of them and ultimately stops with a reading of 'no disc.' I removed the cd changer from the brackets and have read a few posts on making it work again, but can't find directions on how they did it. Can someone walk me through it?
