Hello folks,
In May when I take the car out of hibernation I need to replace the tires and front struts. The previous owner replaced front upper wishbone bushings,
replaced front lower ball joints, replaced camshaft and crank shaft position sensor, replaced spark plugs and ignition coil, adjust 4 wheel alignment
and steering knuckles were replaced in November of 2017 by the Jaguar dealer in Vancouver, Here's a couple pics of my front tires.
Since the mechanic is going to be messing around in there what else should he be looking for? Thanks for your help.
Pretty common.
Check the ride height with the car level. It should measure 15.75" +- 0.25" vertically between the wheel centre and the lower lip of the wing/fender. Anything under around 15.25" or so is tending towards a problem.
The scrub can be caused by any combination of:
Upper shock mounts
Lower shock bushings
Tired springs
Upper control arm bushings (worth re-checking)
Lower control arm bushings
Ball joints (worth re-checking)
Tie rod inner/outer joints
Basically, anything that will affect camber. May also be incorrect toe alignment.
I'd also check the sway bar bushings & drop links 'while you're in there'

Hi Michaelh, thanks for your reply. I'd like to give the mechanic a list of things I'd like him to look at.
I'd rather get everything done at once while it's in the shop and before I put the new tires on.
