Quick input/help TLC xk8
Ok guys.. looking for some quick help.. have some unexpected time off this week and want to knock out the big XK8 projects. Please help. Hoping to do the tensioners that really should be done... my understanding is that only the tops and guides have been failing? Who has the best prices on those parts. Also, since i would love to knock it out quick, what prices have guys been charged to have it done? I also need a few lifters and coils and valve cover gaskets. Hoping to not come across Lazy, i love due diligence and bookmark a lot of info, just wasn't expecting to have the next few days to jump into this and am calling around also... can't just review all the great info here in a day. thx

I think she just misses the cut off for upgraded tensioners

Indeed she does miss the critical date for metal tensioners but do you know if they have not been changed?
Given the short time frame your local Ford or Lincoln dealer is the best bet for parts. Shipping from across the country would eat up most of the week for a few bucks. You will also need the cam timing tools. Some Ford/Lincoln dealers have been reported to rent them to customers since they are not used much. Then there is the zip tie method.
Secondary tensioners and bolts are about $130. If you feel the need or see evidence of gasket leaks they are available at your local auto parts store for the '00 - '02 Lincoln LS/Ford Thunderbird as FelPro part numbers for less than $40.

You don't have 'lifters' and coil packs are easy for later after a web price search.
