I want to do a hard reset of my 1998 XK8 but I am afraid to not get the radio back and I don't know the code and cannot find it in the owners manual. How do I get the code in order to do a reset and get my radio back, Thank you

From your tag location I see you are in Mount Pleasant. Not sure which Mount Pleasant you are in, but if you are somewhere in the US (Mount Pleasant MI, WI, SC, CA, IN etc.) then you have nothing to worry about. The codes for security were not deployed in US cars in the timeframe of yours..

+1 on the radio code for US spec cars. I already succumbed to that scam. I bought a code from RadioCode.com for $35 and then found out I didn't need it. $%^&!

 

There are a handful of US cars that require the radio code. My former 2005 S-Type was one of them. My wife's 2006 XK8 does not require the radio code, though....

I swapped out the radio on my 1997 Canadian import XK8 and didn't need any codes.
