Its almost a month now driving my 2002 S-Type Jag without car radio. I'd traveled out of town with a company vehicle for 3 weeks, by the time i got back, my Jag could not start. I discovered that the battery had drained, and memory got lost. I jump-started it, and discovered the radio was asking for a code.
This was kinda new to me, as i was not provided with a code when i procured the vehicle. Its boring now driving without radio in it, and want to find out from this forum if there is anything i can do to have my car radio back in working mode. How can i have a code, or is there any other way i can reset or clear the memory, or bypass to override the code? I need your help guys. Remember its a 2002 S-Type.
I've copied your post to the tech section where you will get more help.
I haven't used the generator but it's not the vin you need but the serial from the radio, it may be for the older radio though.
I also found this could be worth a try......
Press the following buttons at the same time: A.Mem + PTY + >>
This bypasses the need for a code. Hold the buttons down and after a second or two WELCOME appears on the display and then after another second or two the display shows the regular radio information. You now have an uncoded radio with factory defaults so you will need to reprogram any presets.
Can't you call a dealer somewhere? They don't need to see the car but may need some proof of ownership.
I have tried to bypass the radio as one earlier on suggested, but then i may be using a different type of radio. I am attaching the image of my radio, and tell me what the A.Mem + PTY + >> Buttons are.
It looks like you have the older radio so the generator may work but you will need to pull the radio to get the number.
You can see the A.Mem + PTY + >> buttons here......
Thanks guys, am seeing this after i had removed my radio to view the serial number. Indeed my Radio code is 1059 after using the code generator. I am so much excited that now i can listen to the radio after 2 months of silence. This forum is so helpful, and keep the fire burning guys.

I will come up with another issue soon hehehe
Actually any dealer can provide this code, it is listed in Jaguar's warranty database (that's where i've got it )
